Connect is the name of the interactive portal launched by the HbbTV Fransat format and presented at IBC 2013.
Dedicated to Smart TV set-top boxes and labeled Fransat, Connect offers both access to TV programs, a space dedicated to radios, but some interactive services including a program guide of 10 days including scheduling recordings, VoD and catch-up (Arte +7 NRJ12, France TV, etc..) and detailed information about the programs being broadcast information.
The user will also have the option of displaying the portal on the TV in Full Screen (since Fransat Info string) or as a band appearing in print-channels (by pressing the key "info" on the remote control).
Fransat Connect will be available only on satellite decoders compatible HbbTV whose Xena HD Twin Connect, distributed by Aston. Hybrid decoders, like Smart TV, are able to combine the receipt of satellite channels and display additional content via the Internet. Note that Connect will also be available on TVs with satellite tuner and a Fransat CAM module (for decryption).
An application for smartphones and tablets will also access the program guide and Connect can also be used as a remote control and to program recording remotely.
